First of all, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . But the reason I post it is because it seems to contain a grave error. I’ll highlight the relevant parts.

SEATTLE – Three brothers are charged with two counts of first degree murder and three counts of first degree assault in last week’s shooting at a Seattle homeless camp known as The Jungle.

Two of them, 17-year-old James Taafulisia and 16-year-old Jerome Taafulisia, are being charged as adults. They face 90 to 113 years in prison if convicted. But since they were under 18 when the crime happened, their final sentence can be reviewed after 20 years.

Their 13-year-old brother is being charged as a juvenile. King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg said he would seek to have the boy held until his 21st birthday, which is the maximum sentence he can receive, if convicted.

Because he is not charged as an adult, KING 5 is choosing not to name the 13-year-old.

Satterberg said the motive was to rob a small-time drug dealer of about $100 worth of heroin and several hundred dollars in cash.

Satterberg said James was armed with a .45 caliber handgun loaded with hollow point bullets and Jerome carried a .22 caliber pistol. Joseph was not believed to be armed.

I like how they’re like “BUT HE’S JUST A KID” when he was involved in a freaking murder-spree.

Even if I wasn't armed, but went along with a friend to murder someone, I'd be an accessory to murder.

Well, as with any of these cases, we never know what we don’t know. We get limited info that is leaked or shared, but according to the article, the kids went there with the intent to steal drugs and cash. Somehow things led to murder. So I can’t determine if the younger kid was in on the “let’s kill people” plan, but it does seem like he was down to be an accomplice in armed robbery at a minimum.

His older brothers are shitty and may spend life in jail. Dragging your 13-year old brother to the seediest place in Seattle for the armed robbery of homeless drug addicts that escalates to a murder spree? You’re supposed to protect you little brother. It’s hard to imagine this was the youngest one’s idea.

I messaged them and told them to fix it, and I’m sure others have as well.
